Et là, on m'excuse pour la date sur la photo. Je travaille avec un vieil appareil depuis que le mien à suivi le petit parti en Australie. Je vais changer la photo principale cette semaine. Pour les autres... bien, je ne recommencerais pas l'étui. Il faudra donc s'en passer.

Please accept my apologies for the date on the picture. I’ve been working with an old camera since the one I own travelled halfway across the world with my youngest. I’ll change the main pic this week. As for the others…well, I’m not redoing the froggy case, so we’ll just have to make do.

Nous avions un défi amusant cette semaine. Une chance qu'il y a ces petits défis, si non je sombrerais dans les chaussons. Plus le temps avance, plus je suis proche de mon objectif qui est de 30. Je ne pense pas que je recommencerais ce genre de chose.... trop monotone!!! Mais voilà, je me suis engagée et je vais le faire. De toute façon, je suis si près du but.

We had a fun challenge on our hands this week. Thank Heavens for these little challenges. If it wasn’t for them, I’d probably drown in a sea of slippers… The faster the clock ticks, the closer I get to reaching my goal (which, I remind you, is thirty pairs). I don’t believe I’d do it again, though…way too monotonous!!! But what are you gonna do? I made a commitment, I and I will stick to it. The end is near, anyway.

Qu'en est-il de ma vie en cette fin de semaine d'octobre? Tranquille...j'ai passée la fin de semaine pratiquement toute seule puisque Jacques était parti hiverner la 350Z à Rimouski et les enfants avaient des activités. C'est la vie.  Il faut des moments plus tranquilles.

What have I done with my weekend, might you ask? Well, I practically spent it alone, what with Jacques driving the 350z down to Rimouski for its hibernation period, and the children’s busy social calendars. Such is life.

La coiffeuse a pris soin de moi (coupe, coloration, mèches), j'ai fait quelques commissions et du crochet.

The hair-dresser took good care of me (haircut, color, highlights), I ran a few errands and…wait for it…I crocheted.

Mon étui se construit comme une semelle. Bien quoi? Je suis dans les chaussons!
My scissor case is built just like a shoe sole. What? I’m up to my ears in slippers!

1 .  J'ai fait une chaine de 21 cm, 8,5 pouces que j'ai crocheté en ms en aller retour.
1- I made a 21 cm and 8,5 inch chain that I crocheted using back and forth sc.

      à la première extrémité : 3 ms dans la même maille. On one end: 3 sc in the same stitch
      à la fin (deuxième extrémité) : 2 ms dans la même maille. On the other: 2 sc in the same stitch

 voilà

2ième rang: tout en ms jusqu'à 7 mailles avant la fin. donc 3 demies brides, 1 bride sur chacune des 2 mailles suivantes, 2 brides sur chacune des brides suivantes. et on revient par  2 brides sur chacune des brides suivantes, 1 bride sur chacune des deux mailles suivantes, 3 demies brides et tout en ms jusqu'à 2 mailles avant la fin. 2 fois 2 ms.

Row 2 : all in dc until you’re 7 stitches short of the end. So, 3 half trebles, 1 treble on the next 2 stitches, 2 trebles on the following trebles, and come back with 2 trebles on the following trebles, 1 treble on the next two stitches, 3 half trebles (all of this in dc) until you’re 2 stitches short of the end. 2x 2 dc.

Il ressemble à un vers. It looks like a worm.

3ième rang : tout en ms jusqu'à 8 mailles avant la fin. donc 3 demies brides, 1 bride sur chacune des 2 mailles suivantes, 2 brides sur chacune des 3 brides suivantes. et on revient par  2 brides sur chacune des 3 brides suivantes, 1 bride sur chacune des deux mailles suivantes, 3 demies brides et tout en ms jusqu'à 2 mailles avant la fin. 2 fois 2 ms.

Row 4 : everything in dc until you’re 3 sts short of the end. So 2 sc in the next 3 sts, then come back with 2 dc on the next 3 sts, (all in dc) until you’re 2 sts short of the end. Twice 2 sc, then cut.

 Un serpent maintenant! The worm has morphed into a snake!

5 ième rang : On travaille en ms seulement dans la partie qui nous servira de rabat - - - Row 5: We work in dc only in the part that we’ll use as a flap.

Coudre au point d'écrevisse. Sew using the crabstitch

Serial crocheteuse no 243 : cocooning

Cette fois-ci... ce fût un peu plus de travail. Voici mes premiers bas au crochet et j'en suis réellement fière. Ils sont faits avec un 5 mm et en Paton. Épais à souhait, je suis certaine qu'ils me garderont les pieds au chaud à la sortie du lit. This time…I had to put in a bit more work. These are my first crocheted socks, and I’m really proud of the result. They were made with a 5mm needle out of Paton Classic Wool. They are really thick, so I’m sure they’ll keep my feet toasty warm when I get out of bed in the morning.

Monter 8 ml,  ch 8

1 er rang : 1 ml, 1 ms dans la 2ième ml à partir du début, 5 ms et 3 ms dans la dernière maille, revenir avec 5 ms, 2 ms dans la dernière maille, joindre. nous avons :1 +5+3 +5+2 =16 mailles.
Rnd 1 : 1 st, 1 sc. In the 2nd starting from the beginning, 5 sc, 3 sc in the last stitch, go back to 5 sc, 2 sc in the last stitch, and put them together: So far, we have : 1+5+3+5+2= 16 stitches

2ième rang : 1 ml, 6 ms, 2 ms dans la maille suivante (2 fois), 6 ms, 2 ms dans la maille suivante (2 fois), fermer. Nous avons 20 mailles.
Rnd 2 : 1 st, 6 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch (do this twice), 6 sc, 2 sc, in the nxt row (do this twice), then close up. This adds up to 20 stitches.

3, 4, 5 et 6ième rang : on augmente de 4 mailles avec 2 fois 2 mailles à chaque extrémité.
3rd, 4th , 5th, and 6th rnd: Add 4 stitches (twice 2 stitches on each end).
Nous avons alors 24, 28, 32 et 36 mailles respectivement.
This adds up to: 24, 28, 32, and 36 stitches each.

Faire 18 rangs en mailles serrées. Je ne ferme pas les rangs, je crochète les mailles qui se présentent sans fermer comme un ressort ou tire-bouchon. 
Do 18 in rows using simple crochet. I don’t close up the rows, I crochet the stitches as they come without closing like a spring.

Arrêter au centre du dessous du pied et faire 10 ml pour modeler la demie semelle.
Stop in the middle of sole of the foot and do 10 sts to shape the added shoe sole.

Travailler en ms, donc sauter la dernière ml, 9 ms, 1 mc sur le bas, 1 ms sur le bas, tourner.
Work with stitches, so skip the last st, 9 slst, 1slst , on the lower part. 1 st at the bottom, then turn.

On travaille maintenant sur la semelle : 8 ms, 2 ms dans la dernière maille, revenir sous la chaine de 10 ml, 2 ms dans la première maille, 8 ms (voir photo ci-haut), 1 mc sur le bas, 1 ms sur le bas, tourner.
Let’s work on the shoe sole now : 8 sc, 2 sc in the last stitch, go back under the 10 st chain, do 2 sc in the first stitch, 8 sc (see picture above), 1 sl st at the bottom, 1 sc at the bottom, then turn.

Nous sommes de nouveau sur la semelle : 9 ms, 2 ms (2 fois), 9 ms, 1 mc sur le bas, 1 ms sur le bas, tourner.
We’re back on the sole: 9 sc, 2 sc (twice), 9 sc, 1 slst at the bottom, 1 sc at the bottom, then turn.

Sur la semelle pour une 3ième fois : 8 ms, 2 ms (6 fois ), 8 ms, 1 mc sur le bas, 1 ms sur le bas, tourner.
We’re back on top of the sole for the 3rd time : 8 sc, 2 sc. (six times), 1 slst at the bottom, 1 sc at the bottom, then turn.

 À partir d'ici, on fait le tour de la semelle et du bas.
From here on, we’ll be making the outline of the sole and it’s bottom.

1er rang : 28 ms (la semelle), 1 mc sur le bas, 26 ms, 1 mc sur la semelle
First row: 28 sc (the sole), 1 slst at the bottom, 26, sc, 1 sl st on the shoe sole.

2ième rang, 27 ms, sauter la mc, 1 mc sur le bas, 25 ms, 1 mc sur la semelle.
Second row: 27 sc, skip the sl st , 1 sl st at the bottom, 25 sc, 1 sl st on the sole.

On continue en rond en sautant toujours la mc, suivi d'une mc, c'est ce qui permet de diminuer.
We keep going in a circle, each time skipping the sl, followed, by a sl, this is what allows you to decrease.

 

Lorsqu'on a 36 mailles, on continue à crocheter en rond jusqu'à la hauteur désirée.

When you’ve reached 36 stitches, keep knitting in a circle until you get to the height you want.

SC n° 240 - Légumes de saison !!! mais moi j'ai fait de belles à crocheter - - - This Season’s Veggies!!! But I made beautiful strawberries

Ça doit être mon "esprit" rebelle mais le légume de la saison c'est rapidement transformé en récolte de la saison. It must be my rebellious mind talking, but the veggie of the season rapidly became an entire season’s harvest.

Et puis, si les tomates et les concombres sont des légumes... et que maintenant il y a des fraises dans nos salades... on ne sait plus trop qui est quoi! If tomatoes and cucumbers are vegetables…and there are now strawberries in our salads…We simply do not know what’s what anymore!
Ce fût très amusant de faire autre chose que des chaussons. It was really fun to make something other than slippers.
